2014-8-21 I am in the process of finishing up a cnc conversion of my 4 year old grizzly g0704 mill, trying to do it piecemeal and low cost. Decided on the TinyG as I did not want to invest in having to use a parallel port computer. This also freed me up from buying mach3 and allowed use of my laptop to keep things really convenient and inexpensive.

Time just doesn’t permit. It needs some TLC. The Y axis mount was bumped during shipping and needs a replacement. Should be easy to fab one.

G0704 Heavy Metal CNC
Preloaded for minimal backlash. All aluminum parts anodized to be scratch and corrosion resistant. Machine will need modifications to fit ball nuts for X axis. Drawings for modifications are in the instructions. We anodize in Green, Black, and Clear. Standard Ball screws are rolled 16mm X 5mm pitch with a C7 tolerance. +/- .1mm over 300mm

2011-4-11 I've been doing alot of travel for work, so I"ve finally been able to save enough to buy my machines. I ordered the Grizzly G0704 Mill and G0602 10x22 Lathe. They are backordered, expected arrival of the lathe is January 21st, and the mill is February 25th. I also got the conversion plans from Hoss, and I intend on making the plates from plasma cut steel, and I'll use the lathe for the standoff's.

2016-3-27 It's a 2.4 GHz P4 that I put together around '04. I spent some time making sure as little as possible would run on it not even go into screensaver because I've heard of that causing glitches. I keep it off the home network and carry files out to it on a USB drive.
